A Celebration to Appreciate COVI Reach’s Frontline Warriors

A thanksgiving ceremony for ASHA and Anganawadi workers was organised by Grassroots Research And Advocacy Movement (GRAAM)’s COVIReach project supported by Aris Global of Mysuru Taluk at the premises of Zilla Panchayath on August 12.

In recognition of support given by ASHA and Anganawadi workers in making villages of Mysuru Taluk Covid free, GRAAM honoured them   in a thank giving ceremony organised to acknowledge the support of different stakeholders of the project including elected representatives of the Panchayats, Panchayath development Officers and the members of Youth ICAN team.

MLA G T Devegowda said “Through COVI Reach programme, GRAAM made us realise that all the stakeholders in the community are the warriors in the fight against COVID.” He congratulated GRAAM for its accomplishment. He suggested GRAAM to extend this programme to the other Gram Panchayats of Mysuru Taluk and to create awareness among the members of the other Gram panchayats. 

He appreciated GRAAM for initiating a unique project and supporting it from the inception to end. 

More than 100 ASHA and Anganawadi workers were felicitated on the occasion. Certificates were issued to ICAN team members in recognition of their service to the community and as well as to the project. Cheques were also distributed to the members of deceased families.  

ZP CEO A M Yogeesh, DHO Dr H K Prasad, THO Musyru taluk EO Ramesh, Associate Director for ARIS Global Deepa Prasad were also present on the occasion.

GRAAM Executive Director Basavaraju R Shreshta introduced the journey of the project from inception to the end. Project Head Usha R welcomed the gathering and Project Coordinator Ravi C S delivered a vote of thanks. Project lead Dr Rajendra Prasad was the master of ceremony.
