Sugamya Shiksha

Sugamya Shiksha is a program conceptualized  and planned by GRAAM to develop model government schools that provide a  comprehensive learning environment. The program takes a holistic approach with new initiatives for strengthening government programs/activities in the selected schools. The project aims at strengthening the public education system by complementing  resources to ensure comprehensive learning and development of children. The objective is to build synergy between schools and other stakeholders, mainly the local community, and to create an extended platform at schools to facilitate effective learning which goes beyond the syllabus to motivate the children from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue education with a clear dream and aspiration in life

Project objectives:

The objective of the Sugamya Shiksha programme is to develop a model school system which corrects the existing gaps in the public education system. It aims to create an extended platform at government schools to promote holistic growth of students and to facilitate effective learning which is not limited to the syllabus.


Project Result / Accomplishments:

Sugamya Shiksha has come a long way since its inception in 2016. The project was implemented in a phased manner, starting with 3 schools in one district, expanded to 35 schools in six districts and has successfully reached 10478 students this year. This year 2019-20, 15 new schools and 2 new districts were included. Sugamya Shiksha program is implemented with a team of 162 young and committed youths striving hard for the holistic development of the government schools.
