Kiran is a certified ornithologist from Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai. Before joining GRAAM he worked as an Engineer Checker in TRC worldwide engineering.

He was one of the founding members of "Aranya Outreach '' a social enterprise dedicated for nature education and bio-diversity conservation. He has worked as a campaigner in Humane Society International, India in the department of Human-wildlife conflict management. He has been active in wildlife conservation practice for around 8 years and has been associated with Karnataka Forest Department and other NGOs working in the bio-diversity and wildlife conservation space in various capacities such as bio-diversity surveys, nature education for school children, as a naturalist and as part of outreach and awareness campaigns.

Kiran is associated with Global Youth Biodiversity Network - Karnataka Chapter,  Early bird - Nature Conservation Foundation,  Ebird India and  Mysore Nature.

He is Seasoned birdwatcher and  has seen over 500+ species of birds, travelling across the country. Kiran is a wildlife photographer and has Published poems in few online magazines. He wrote  and performed for a rap song which is on saving bio-diversity of Kukkarahalli lake.
