Shailendra Prasad

Shailendra Prasad, MD, MPH, graduated from Mysore Medical College and completed a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in academic medicine at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, USA, and a MPH from the University of Minnesota. He has worked as a primary care physician in underserved areas of India, rural areas and urban inner cities of the US. He is actively involved with undergraduate, medical student and residency education. He is an Associate Professor and Director of Global Family Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and a researcher at the Rural Health Research Center in the Division of Health Policy at the University of Minnesota. He is also the Co-chair of Leadership Council at the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Prasad is actively involved in projects in the intersection of primary care and public health.
