Paul R. Greenough

Paul R. Greenough is a distinguished faculty at the Department of History at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Iowa. He had been the Director of the Cross Borders Program of International Studies and also the co-director of the National Resource Center in International Studies. His areas of interest form a unique blend of Indian history, environmental and global health history, and thereby leading to a fascinatingly holistic perspective on a wide range of topics. His interest in the diasporic ties between India, East Africa, the Pacific Islands and the Carribean has led him to travel to several destinations in South Asia and to collaborations with Carribean historians, anthropologists, writers and artists. He has also been keenly involved in the Global Health Studies and was the Director of the Global Health Studies Program and international Programs between 1994-2007. Paul was awarded with the prestigious Hancher-Finkbine Medallion recognizing leadership, learning and loyalty at the University of Iowa in 2006.
