'Education for the Tribal Communities – Present Scenario, Challenges, Policy intervention and Action Plan’.
GRAAM in collaboration with the Tribal Forum of Karnataka organised a Webinar Series titled: ‘Education for the Tribal Communities – Present Scenario, Challenges and Necessary Actions’ on a virtual platform between 7th to 11th of October. State Tribal Research Institute and Rise foundation also extended their support to this event.
Why Webinar on Tribal?: The Scheduled Tribes (ST) are among the most socially and educationally disadvantaged groups in India.

School Polls and Student’s Political Engagement
As part of our Sugamya Shiksha program, the students took part in ‘School cabinet – an elected student body that plays a pivotal role in maintaining discipline and coordinating various non-academic activities in school.’
These school polls were conducted as per electoral system procedures laid down by Election Commission of India to make students familiar with democratic process and to experience the election process.
Women entrepreneurship in the time of pandemic
Based on the previous experience & expertise, GRAAM established a millet-based value added food products manufacturing unit under its Social Business initiative to support the sustainable livelihood of rural women Folk at Bilikere Village of Hunsur Taluk in Mysuru district . The unit inauguration programme was held on October 30th.

GRAAM signs an SoI with Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog
Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement, a leading research and public engagement organization inked a Statement of Intent (SoI) with the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog for strategic and technical collaboration to strengthen monitoring and evaluation of government policies and programs in India.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dr Sekhar Bonu, Director General, DMEO, Shri Alok Mishra, Deputy Director General DMEO, NITI Aayog officials and GRAAM’s Chairman Dr R Balasubramaniam along with other staff in New Delhi on November 23.

Development of State of the 21st Century Skills Sector Report
UNICEF has assigned GRAAM to develop a status report on the 21st century skills scenario in India and it serves as a situation assessment with the impacts of the future YuWaaH programmes. Orientation visit to GRAAM by University students
Post Graduate students from the Department of Studies in Social Work ,University of Mysore recently visited GRAAM as a part of their orientation visit to social welfare institutes as designed in their Social Work education curriculum. This official visit has been organised to enhance the knowledge of budding professionals in the field of social work.
GRAAM faculties organised an orientation session to these students to give deeper understanding and familiarity on the nature, structure and functions of the Non-Profit Organisations.
5th session on Introduction to Public Policy (IPP) held in Delhi
A fifth session on `Introduction to Public Policy Course’ was conducted on face to face mode for Quality Council of India (QCI) at New Delhi on 23-24th November 2021. Dr R Balasubramaniam, Chairman, GRAAM conducted the introductory session on ‘History and Evolution of the policy making process’. This was followed by two sessions by Dr Ananya Samajdar, Head, Research, GRAAM on ‘Public Policy Cycle’ and ‘Policy Execution’. Dr Basavaraju R, Executive Director, GRAAM conducted sessions on Public Policy Analysis and Policy Communication.
Dr Balu will Head the Committee on Karnataka Youth Policy-2021
Dr R Balasubrahmaniam, Founder and Chairman, GRAAM has been nominated as the Head of the committee constituted to form Karnataka Youth Policy-2021.
GoK has formed a 13-member expert committee to elicit opinion about expectations from the new policy. After compilation of views and ideas, the committee is expected to submit a final report on new policy to the government within the time frame of two months.
