The National Fellowship aims to place young professionals at the heart of development policy and governance to work within key public institutions, departments, and agencies. Fellows will support ongoing and new development initiatives, conduct evidence-based research, and co-create innovative solutions.
Anchored in the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, the program offers rigorous training in development theory, public policy, and governance systems; strategic mentorship; and immersive field placements. Fellows will gain the skills, exposure, and experience to drive impactful, research-driven solutions to real-world development policy challenges.

The fellowship seeks highly motivated young professionals of Indian Citizenship who are passionate about governance and policy. You may apply to the fellowship program if you are:
Postgraduates aged 23 – 25 years, preferably with a postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Management, etc.); strong academic and co-curricular achievements, including fellowships, internships, or projects with reputed national/international organizations or government departments/agencies.
Postgraduates aged 26 – 35 years, preferably with a degree in social sciences, public policy, or allied disciplines and a minimum 3 years’ work experience in the social, development, or policy sectors.
Postgraduates aged 26 – 35 years with a degree in any discipline; minimum 5 years’ professional experience, preferably with demonstrated interest in governance, policy, or development.
Although the placements will be prioritized in public institutions, departments, and agencies in New Delhi, we understand the need for flexibility, and will accommodate local placements where the proposed work and institutional or departmental needs align.

For Experienced Social Sector Professionals (26-35 Years)
You have a deep, on-the-ground understanding of social and development challenges. This stream is for professionals with proven experience in the non-profit or social enterprise sector who wish to leverage their field-level insights to influence policy and governance from within.
