Shala Samsath (School Election) a program devised under Sugamya Shiksha was executed at the Government Higher Primary School of Metagalli in Mysuru.

The polling for the Shala Samsath was held on June 29 on the school premises, wherein more than 140 students cast their votes. The process of the election began by filing nominations. Students then went from class to class seeking votes from their fellow classmates. On Wednesday, polling booths were set up and students one after another cast their votes via mobile application.

The election was held for the post of 12 cabinet ministers and the Cheif Minister of the school. Education, Food, Cleanliness, and Sports were among the few cabinet ministries.

The election process was demonstrated so that the students could understand how elections are carried out at different levels of democracy. Students were made aware of the importance of elections. To give the whole election a realistic approach, the index finger of the students were inked.
