Shilpa Narayanan

Consultant - Strategic Partnerships (CSR / ESG / Government)

Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Leader with about a decade of delivery excellence experience in Research-Development-Advocacy around Socio-Environment-Governance – through impactful and well-acknowledged Government-Political-Public Sector Engagements. She comes from an academic background in Ecology and Environmental Sciences and has been an active Environmental Advocator in Bengaluru. She actively led the BBMP-initiated eco-initiatives – the ‘Kill-Bills’ Campaign against Flex-Banners, and ‘Composting Santhe’ for promoting good Solid Waste Management practices. As an independent eco-civic leader, she conducted Bengaluru’s first citizen-lead Cleanathon for Construction and Debris (C&D) waste (2017); this movement made the then Hon. Mayor of Bengaluru, brought into action the stringent NGT rules of fines of Rs.5 lakhs & 1 lakh respectively for dumping of waste in lakes and SWD/roadsides. As an Urban Governance Documentation Specialist, she published two state-level catalogs on Urban Best Practices, published by the then Honorable Minister for Urban Development, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, GoK. (2008 & 2010). As a Lake Conservationist, and a team member of the Friends of Lakes (FOL) network, she was part of the award felicitation at ‘Namma Bengaluru Awards – 2017’.

Apart from Sustainability and Good Governance/Democracy track records, Shilpa has been pursuing her professional passion in CSR for the past 6 years for societal upliftment aiming at sustainable and socially impactful projects. She is also a spiritual volunteer with a passion for an eco-conscious-living society. Her other hobbies include eco-civic advocacy, meditation, traveling, photography, reading-blogging, and socializing.
