GRAAM

To support case-study on Civil-society Participation in India’s Pandemic Response

World Health Organization in 2021 said the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of social participation in health systems since such participation is critical for fostering trust in the Government, which in turn is key for the effectiveness of the Covid response. Such participation also helps to bridge the gap between policymaker perspectives and the experiences and needs of communities, thereby enhancing the responsiveness of health services. The purpose of the study commissioned by WHO to GRAAM is to understand the status of civil society coalition/network engagement with the health system (especially during Covid-19, and with a particular focus on engagement in shaping policy), and the various forums/types of engagement.
