Dr. Suman is a seasoned public health professional with over 9 years of experience in strengthening healthcare systems, advancing primary health care, and driving policy-level change through evidence-based research and program implementation. Her work spans across key domains including RMNCH+A, nutrition, WASH, and community health, with a strong grounding in both strategy and grassroots execution.
She has been a key contributor to national flagship programs such as Ayushman Bharat, supporting the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in drafting strategic frameworks, operational guidelines (including IPHS 2021-22, 15th Finance Commission), and parliamentary briefs. Her deep involvement in program design and technical oversight has played a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of Comprehensive Primary Health Care across India.
Dr. Suman has held significant roles with NHSRC and UNICEF, where she led assignments on CPHC and community processes, and designed impactful interventions for newborn care, labor rooms, KMC units, and WASH in facilities across states like Bihar and Delhi. She has also contributed to real-time monitoring solutions like SASHAKT and managed large-scale data evaluation projects across districts.
Dr. Suman has extensive experience in designing and implementing public health projects, with a strong focus on health systems, maternal and child health, and community-based interventions.
Prepared over 25 technical proposals in the areas of health, nutrition, and education.
Developed a technical proposal for the BMGF-funded project “Developing a Demonstrable Model of Panchayat-led Comprehensive Primary Health Care” in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh (granted to NAVGRAAM).
Led the rollout of initiatives under the Indian Newborn Action Plan in Gaya District, Bihar.
Managed data collection and analysis for the project Concurrent Monitoring & Evaluation of RMNCH+A services across 24 blocks of Gaya District, using Government of India checklists.
