The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program is a flagship initiative of the Election Commission of India, aimed at enhancing voter awareness and participation, especially among youth, women, and marginalized communities.
This project focuses on evaluating the impact of SVEEP activities implemented in Karnataka during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Notably, Karnataka witnessed a 1% increase in voter turnout compared to the 2019 elections—a testament to SVEEP’s growing influence.
Using the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) survey method, the study assesses how effectively SVEEP has informed and engaged voters. It identifies key successes, uncovers gaps in outreach strategies, and suggests actionable improvements for future campaigns. The ultimate goal is to strengthen democratic participation and ensure that every citizen is empowered to make informed electoral choices.
