Project Samvarthana: A Convergent Approach to Child Survival & Development
GRAAM is partnering with UNICEF to develop & demonstrate a comprehensive and convergent implementation strategy for improving the conditions of child survival and development in 20 villages. The project is being implemented in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district and Gangavathy taluk of Koppal district. Villages have been selected based on the status of immunization coverage, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) as well as the vulnerability of the targeted population, in consultation with the health department authorities.

Develop and demonstrate a comprehensive and a convergent implementation model for ensuring services to adolescents, mother and children.
Project Result / Accomplishments:
Several communication initiatives related to behaviour and social change were planned and implemented. Important among them are:
- IVRS (Integrated Voice Response System) has been implemented
- Special activity book printed and distributed to SHG and (VHSNC) members to document the health events conducted at the village level.
- scripts developed for enactment of street plays for social messaging.
- Village based activities such as SHG meetings, IPC video sessions, VHND meetings and school events and rallies conducted at regular events.
