Sarath Kalliattu Thazhathu is a senior research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and data analytics professional with over 20 years of experience across statistics, impact evaluation, policy research, and market research in development, public, and private sector domains. He holds an MBA in Business Analytics from BITS Pilani and a Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Mysore. Currently leading research and evaluation initiatives at GRAAM, he has previously worked with the Ministry of Communications & IT (Government of Qatar), Kantar TNS (India & UAE), and IDC India, bringing extensive international and multi-sectoral experience.
He has significant international exposure, having worked in the UAE, Qatar, and Indonesia, and has managed research and consulting assignments for clients across Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Europe, and the Americas. During his tenure with the Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of Qatar, he contributed to international benchmarking studies, analysing global ICT indicators and best practices to support national policy and strategy development. He was also a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Expert Group on Household and Individual ICT Indicators, contributing to global statistical standards.
His expertise spans monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, market research, sampling design, research methodology, consumer insights, advanced analytics, capacity building, international benchmarking, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and data analysis. He leverages AI-driven tools for data processing, automation of workflows, and enhancing efficiency in research design, analysis, and reporting. He has led large-scale, multi-country and multi-state studies, demonstrating strong capabilities in designing robust research frameworks, developing data collection tools, managing complex datasets, and ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting.
Sarath has worked with leading global and national clients such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Dabur, Nestlé, along with stakeholders across banking, automotive, healthcare, and government sectors. With advanced proficiency in analytical tools including SPSS, R, Python, and SAS, he combines technical rigor with strategic leadership to generate actionable insights, strengthen evidence-based decision-making, and build institutional capacities across sectors such as livelihoods, health, skills, and governance.
