Under the Sugamya Shiksha, an initiative to transform education at the public schools, an interactive session for the students who have cleared their SSLC examination.
Mysuru: SSLC examinations or the 10th grade is a turning point in the students’ life. It is a juncture wherein students ought to make choice about their future. Especially those students hailing from backward communities are often deprived of guidance. Understanding the plight of these students, the team of Sugamya Shiksha, an action research project of GRAAM held a facilitative session for the students to give them an introduction to the opportunities that lie ahead.Â
On May 20, Mr Shankar Bellur, an eminent counselor from the city addressed the students of  Metallgalli Government high school who have cleared their SSLC (10th grade) examinations.  By providing examples of successful personalities, Mr Bellur motivated the students to make the right choices in life.Â
While interacting with the students, Mr Bellur understood the choices of careers and the reasons behind them. He also suggested the students introspect and identify their strengths and weaknesses and make relevant career choices based on their strengths assessment.
Overall the counseling session gave students an opportunity to review and introspect on their choices. Â
