In 2022, ABFRL launched a manufacturing unit in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh, creating over 2,000 jobs, significantly empowering local women.

ABFRL has also escalated diversed CSR activities in the neighboring villages of Yerraballe Harijanawada, Krishnamvari Palli, and R. Thummalapalli, aimed at enhancing residents’ quality of life. These initiatives focus on five pivotal areas: Education, Health and Sanitation, Sustainable Livelihood, Digital Empowerment, and Water and Watershed Management.

To effectively activate these CSR activities to community needs, ABFRL collaborated with GRAAM (Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement). During January-February 2024, GRAAM conducted a comprehensive field study in these villages to standardized the local stakeholders’ needs and aspirations within the themes of Health, Education, Sanitation, Livelihood, Digital Empowerment, and other developmental areas.

As the study was concerned, GRAAM recommended several key CSR interventions. In the realm of Education and Skill Development, the “Aditya Eye – Education and Youth Empowerment Program” encompasses three significant programs: Early Childhood Care and Education, School Development Program, and Skill Development Program.

In the Agriculture and Livelihood sector, the “ABFRL-LIFE (Livelihood Initiative for Economic Empowerment)” includes two major programs: Agriculture Livelihood Support through a Custom Hiring Center and Alternative Livelihood opportunities for women. These programs aim to bolster economic empowerment and provide sustainable income sources for the community.

In the Health and Sanitation, the “ABFRL Swatcchata Suraksha” initiative focuses on enhancing sanitation facilities and health awareness in these villages, thereby improving overall public health standards.

ABFRL’s strategic approach to CSR, rooted in a deep understanding of community needs and collaborative efforts with experts like GRAAM, reflects its dedication to fostering sustainable development and upliftment of local communities. ABFRL is making significant steps towards improving the socio-economic fabric of these regions by addressing critical areas such as education, livelihood, health, and sanitation.
