Post Graduate students from the Department of Studies in Social Work ,University of Mysore recently visited GRAAM as a part of their orientation visit to social welfare institutes as designed in their Social Work education curriculum. This official visit has been organised to enhance the knowledge of budding professionals in the field of social work.
Post Graduate students from the Department of Studies in Social Work ,University of Mysore recently visited GRAAM as a part of their orientation visit to social welfare institutes as designed in their Social Work education curriculum. This official visit has been organised to enhance the knowledge of budding professionals in the field of social work. Â
GRAAM faculties organised an orientation session to these students to give deeper understanding and familiarity  on the nature, structure and functions of the Non-Profit Organisations.Â
While explaining the organisation profile, GRAAM Operation Manager Mr Ananthamurthy explained the decades long journey of GRAAM from the inception to present-day. He said that a unique blend of academic knowledge with the experience of development practitioners can be seen in GRAAM. Here academicians work hand-in-hand with practitioners in the field and combine their knowledge, expertise and experience for the larger good of the communities. He advised the students to develop their professional skills through observing the functions of voluntary organisations.
Dr Rajendra Prasad, head Community Consultation suggested the students to utilise this opportunity to conceptualise an idea about their future roles in the social work profession. He called upon students to become Change makers and to bring social change in the society
Total 45 students accompanied by two faculties  of the department took part in this visit. Students shared their feedback about the organisation.Â
