Universal access to quality healthcare is the cornerstone of a thriving society. In Karnataka, a comprehensive evaluation study is underway to understand how large-scale public health policies are changing lives on the ground. Partnering with state monitoring authorities, a research team from GRAAM has embarked on assessing the real-world impact of two critical healthcare interventions: the life-saving STEMI cardiac program and Ayushman Arogya Kedras.
Moving from research design to active field testing, the team recently completed vital pilot studies in the Hoskote and Nelamangala talukas. By interviewing over 400 community members and evaluating local facilities, the study has already generated important preliminary insights into the delivery of rural healthcare.
The initial data brings both encouragement and clarity. This diagnostic exercise sets the stage for a massive upcoming statewide rollout, deploying a dedicated field force to capture the voices of over 22,000 respondents.
