Distribution of care kits to ASHA workers

MLA for Varuna constituency Dr Yathindra Siddharamaiah and GRAAM Executive Director Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta distributed these care kits to the ASHA workers .

In order to ensure the safety to ASHA workers who carry out door-to-door COVID 19 care and to break the chain of infection, in association with Association of 41 clubs, an associate of Round Table India Association, GRAAM distributed care kits to ASHA workers of Varuna constituency in Mysuru Taluk on July 17, 2021.

MLA for Varuna constituency Dr Yathindra Siddharamaiah and GRAAM Executive Director Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta distributed these care kits to the ASHA workers in a kit distribution programme organised at Dr B R Ambedkar community hall in Varuna village. Total 75 ASHA workers belonging to Varuna, S R Hundi, Kellasapura and Mellahalli Primary Health Centre limits received these ASHA kits on the occasion.

In his inaugural address Dr Yathindra Siddharamaiah explained the contributions of ASHA workers to the community. He thanked GRAAM and Association of 41 clubs for taking the initiative to distribute care kits to ASHA workers. He advised ASHA workers to use these kits to protect the community from the second and third waves of COVID-19.

While distributing care kits Dr Basavaraju said that `We are thankful to ASHA workers   for their service to the community and distribute these kits for their safety and to make their work more effective and efficient’.

This care kit includes Thermometer, Pulse oximeters, sanitiser and masks. Mysuru Taluk Medical Officer Dr Mahadeva Prasad demonstrated the operation of these instruments to the ASHA workers.

Mysuru Taluk E O Ramesh assured the support of the Gram Panchayath task force for the ASHA workers on the event. 

COVI Reach’s Project Head Usha R, PDO and president of the Varuna Gram Panchayath, MO of Varuna PHC were also present.
