Mysuru: The Executive Director of GRAAM, Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta continued his stint as a guest speaker inspiring hundreds to pursue public policy and partake in the development of the nation. In the past three months, Dr Shrehsta was not only invited to address students but also guided probationary officers of the Karnataka Administrative Service.
Public Policy and People’s Participation
It was an insightful journey for the students of Law as the Executive Director of GRAAM, Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta delivered a lecture on the basics of public policy at the JSS College of Law in Mysuru.

From explaining the meaning of public policy to how the government drafts and implements policies, the executive director of GRAAM explained it all to the students.
Dr Basavaraju also threw light on grassroots governance and took the students through the parliamentary processes during his session. The students also organized a sociology poster presentation and Dr Basavaraju inaugurated the competition. Each of the students depicted their ideas and presented them to the faculty and the guests.
Addressing the newly induced KAS officers
For the newly recruited officers of the Karnataka Administration Service officers, a session was taken by the Executive Director of GRAAM, Dr. Basavaraju R Shreshta explaining the fundamentals of public policies. In the Common Foundation Course conducted for probationary officers, Dr. Basavaraju spoke of the unorganized sector and its importance in the economy. He explained various forms of unorganized sectors and how governments can facilitate an effective transition from the unorganized to the organized sector through government policies.
Inspiring the young at ASPIRE
In December, Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta, the Executive Director of GRAAM addressed the students at the Yuvapatha, Bengaluru, and imparted insights on the opportunities that lie in social entrepreneurship. In the event organized by Campus to Community called ASPIRE Dr Basavaraju also highlighted the career opportunities in the development sector and encouraged students to carve out a path in the sector. He was a part of the orientation provided especially for the enhancement of students of Social Work.
