GRAAM to study the needs of the Community

GRAAM to study the needs of the Community

The team of GRAAM has undertaken a Community Need Assessment study in the Doddaballapur town of Bengaluru.

Doddaballapur: GRAAM has undertaken a “Community Need Assessment” for a leading pharmaceutical company based in Bengaluru to help design and execute a new set of CSR activities.

In order to achieve this project, team members of GRAAM visited Doddaballapur in the month of May to understand the requirements of the people.

Under Doddaballapur, Bashettihalli Gram Panchayat,  Bisunavahalli, Ellupura, Arehalli Guddadahalli Varadanahalli, and  Raghunathapura were identified to carry out In-depth Interviews (IDI) and Focus Group Discussions (FGD).

The research team of GRAAM surveyed 149 people via IDI and FGD to collect data about education, livelihood, sanitation, waste management, basic infrastructure, and social security. The discussions gave them an understanding of the needs of the population.

The need assessment began with a preliminary visit and rapport building in the selected villages of the Panchayat. During these visits, information about infrastructure, demographics, community leaders, and existing institutions were collected.

The team is currently analyzing the primary data collected from the grassroots research and is in the process of formulating a report with relevant recommendations.
