Real educational change happens when innovative ideas move seamlessly from program blueprints into daily classroom routines. In Himachal Pradesh, the HP FUTURES initiative is reshaping school environments by blending competency-based teaching, environmental awareness, and sports-driven values into every child’s school day. To understand how these concepts unfold on the ground, GRAAM is undertaking a process evaluation across diverse public schools.
The project evaluates three central pillars: competency-based education, green education, and sports values. By observing classroom dynamics and holding discussions with teachers and students, the organization evaluates how educators adapt lesson plans, guide environmental inquiry through green toolkits, and build fairness and equity through interactive physical activities. Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, this study examines the actual journey of teaching and learning, identifying both supportive factors and practical hurdles.
Ultimately, this work generates actionable insights to strengthen teaching practices, address classroom bottlenecks, and ensure that dynamic educational models take deep root. By understanding how classroom innovations function in real-world settings, the initiative helps build a stronger, more inclusive foundation for public education statewide.
