The Youth For Governance Fellowship is a blended learning program for select 25 young minds. Spanning over nine months, the Y4G Fellowship program is conducted by Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), Hans Seidel Foundation in association with GRAAM.

Starting on August 22, the sessions have actively engaged participants in conversations on governance. During one of the interactions on participation, the fellows were taught about how participation is all about giving equal chances with no discrimination or domination over others. In the subsequent sessions, the participants learned about the 74th Constitutional Amendments Act and discussed governance. Volunteers from Civic Bangalore, a voluntary citizens’ forum for discussion and action on issues impacting Bengaluru, carried out the discussions on governance.

Through these insightful sessions, the Y4G fellows are getting to understand topics like climate change, food productivity, and war conditions. The significance of the stakeholders and their analyses was also a part of the new session.

To gain practical knowledge of the subject matter, the fellows visited the Zone-4 office of the Mysuru City Corporation. They had an engaging conversation with the officers about various issues like sanitation, solid waste management, the 74th constitutional amendment, and election duty.

In the recent session, the Y4G fellows gained an understanding of the relationship that exists between government and citizens.
